Inspiration // Sknobbery

I had mentioned quite some time ago about a new piece of furniture I acquired that could use some new knobs. I am now on the hunt for knobs for another project, and while I love my original choice of Moon Raven Design's aged metal bird skull drawer pull, I still don't have the capacity to spend $28 a pop!
So I am going to make my own! No, I will not be macerating and casting bird skulls, I'll probably go with something a little more in line with my skill set, maybe some paint and some modpodge. While I figure out the perfect pull, check out this delicate drawer decorations:

Heather Kent's floral watercolor and resin sealed knob would make a great little accent piece.
Shrimrita's cupcake knobs are kitchen ready! They might not be a good idea if your sweet tooth is as strong as mine.
And if you want the key to my heart (or the pull to my drawer?), a chevron print is all you need. Sarah of featherandwild nailed it with the killer color combination this knob is donning.
I wanted inspiration, and while all of these knobs would look great on my new project, I know just the knob for the job.

DIYF // Chevron Backpack

Thank God it's Do It Yourself Friday! Sometimes, an item just needs a little something to spruce it up. I decided this was the case with the grey Baggu bag I had gotten in NYC. I originally thought I would put an applique of a radish, but I decided not to put that time into it.

Supplies:
masking tape // ruler // pen // x-acto knife // fabric paint // paint brush

1. Draw zig-zags on the masking tape. I made marks an inch width apart with a half inch height. Then I drew a line from one mark down to the mark diagonal on the row below. Then I used the x-acto knife to cut through the lines made on the masking tape.
2. Apply masking tape zig-zags to item. I decided to paint the chevron pattern on the flap and pocket.
3. Paint! I blended black and pearl screen printing ink for a slightly metallic silver.
4. Wait for the paint to dry, and peel off the masking tape. Enjoy your new unique bag!

recently made // chevron night stand! & w.i.w.

I got this sweet night stand for $ .50 at a yard sale about a month ago. It was that old faux wood grain with gold pipes. I spray painted everything white and cut a zigzag pattern out of black contact paper using the grid on the back and my quilting ruler.

The wheels are perfect for when i put something on the other side without thinking and realize I need it when I am half asleep!

What I Wore:

And just for fun, I wore this cute little outfit today. It was actually warmer outside than it was in my house!
My good friend Anna gave me her old brown riding boots. I love them! The perks of being small!

Shirt: Calvin Klein, thrifted
Skirt: Vintage, rescued
Boots: c/o Anna
